Upon arriving to BRHC I advised intake that was just attacked by a cat, have a severe cat bite and a congenital heart condition for which I need prophylactic antibiotic treatment to prevent infection.
Do not trust thier pricing even if you call and speak to billing you will be given a number that's false, we were quoted 47 dollars for an X-ray then upon arrival was told it was 104, and that they had to send it out to a raidiologist to be read despite the fact this was at another doctors request and they would be reading It. All the receptionist could manage was saying "I don't know" when confronted with this discrepancy, never once apologized, this is a poor health care organization. I would advise choosing anothe option.
I am writing this review concerning my visit to Bucksport Regional Health Center on 6/19 at approximately 10:00, am. seeking treatment for a cat bite and my attempt to make an appointment for treatment for an embedded tick on 6/26.
Was so excited when Dr.D came back but it takes an act of congress to see him.. The price went up due to the refab they did to the center. So you made it look better and the cost is ours now and the service is sooo much worse. The telephone system sucks. Takes so damn long to get any where's on the automated system that you just want to hang up. I have been going here for 34 years and it keeps getting worse and worse. The hometown feel that BRHC once had is solo far gone. I'm afraid it will never return. Very very very upset.
Not only was BRHC was willing to leave me for dead on the date I walked into the center they refused to give me an appointment when I called them on 6/26 concerning an embedded tick I need removed. They asked for my mailing address so they could “mail” me a new patient application. I informed the receptionist that an embedded tick is too urgent to deal with snail mail and her reply was that I couldn’t have an appointment anyway until they mail a release for my medical records to my previous physician in New York and receive them.”
As of today’s date 6/28 I still have the embedded tick and no way to get treatment for same.
Bucksport Regional Health Center always gives excellent patient care! The staff there is top notch! The doctors there truly care about their patients and the rest of the staff always greet you with a smile! I love their Saturday Urgent Care hours. The dental team is the best around. The hygienists do a great job working with my kids and help make dentist visits a pleasure! I won't take them anywhere else. I love the Health Educator there too! She truly cares about helping people reach their health/dental and nutritional goals and getting them the resources they need to be successful! Oh and I love the fish tank! :)
When I informed the physician that I just moved to Bucksport, do not know anyone here and have a visual disability that precludes me from driving and therefore had no way of getting there she replied “I can’t resolve for you how to get to Bangor Hospital.”
I know standard medical care and procedure. This is not it. If I needed to be an established patient they could have enrolled me then and there. To turn away an an injured patient with such a short window of time for medically necessary prophylactic antibiotic treatment with so little concern considering the lack of other options for a non-driver is nothing short of horrifying.
Upon seeing a doctor I was told they were not a walk in clinic and that they could not help me and was advised to go to Bangor Hospital for treatment.
This place should be avoided if a person wants to remain healthy! The only reason you would want to go here is to get sick!! Go elsewhere if you want to be healthy!!!! It would not suprise me that they resently stoped useing leaches to cure illnesses!
